Nutrition Basics: Diet – “a manner of living”
Calories are ENERGY! We need to fuel our bodies, just like we put fuel in our vehicles. Would you expect to drive your car across the country on Empty?
You probably wouldn’t get very far until you filled up with the appropriate type of fuel. Similarly, we need to know when we have enough energy. If your “tank” is already full,
the extra calories or fuel have to go somewhere until they are needed by our bodies.
What would happen if you accidentally put diesel, oil, antifreeze, or washer fluid into your gas tank? Your vehicle wouldn’t be able to run effectively,
if at all, with something other than the fuel it was designed to use. Same with our bodies. We cannot be at our personal best without choosing a diet and lifestyle that
support our health. Give your body what it needs!
Lesson One – fill up with enough fuel. Lesson Two – fill up with the best fuel. To learn more about how to fuel your body, contact Evolve Wellness, LLC.

Why Exercise? Moving Better and Moving More
Exercise should allow you to feel more comfortable, efficient, and strong during daily life. With a unique approach to stabilization and posture training,
you will begin noticing that tasks are easier, you feel taller and more confident, and can move more easily. This principle can be applied to someone wanting to
lift a box at work, as well as to someone training for a marathon.
A well rounded approach to fitness should include the following:
Function: elements such as core, balance, and posture to help you move better
Cardiorespiratory Fitness: walking, running, biking, swimming and more!
Resistance Training: to improve function, muscular endurance, strength, or power
Flexibility: to restore range of motion, improve circulation, and sometimes, to just relax!
Implementing and progressing each of the above elements, along with a conscious lifestyle, will help you achieve a positive body image and healthy body composition.
As your fitness level improves, you have more energy to do what you love. Let’s get you moving better and moving more in order to truly live every day of your life!
In The Zone: Age-Predicted Target Heart Rate
220-age = Estimated Max Heart Rate
Estimated MHR x 50%-80% = Target Heart Rate in beats per minute (bpm)
This Heart Rate Formula will allow you to get a general idea of the intensity you need during exercise, both to be effective and safe. Use this formula while
assessing your Perceived Exertion, by simply asking yourself “How hard do I feel I am working?” Of course, always consult with your physician or Fitness Professional
prior to beginning an exercise program, especially if you have specific health concerns. For more specific recommendations to maximize your exercise efforts,
